i'm a fan of dancing, ecdysiasts, and channing tatum. so channing tatum playing an edcysiast while also showing off his great dance skills is "all right, all right, all right" by me
I LOVED Gifted. Fairly predictable, but it had one or two lovely reveals, and a truly impressive performance from the little girl. Chris Evans and Lindsey Duncan were both pretty good, too. And it made me cry, more than once. What did you think of GIFTED? The trailer looked interesting, and Evans has done good work in several films.
Our Betters (1933).
Mmm-mnn...Constance Bennett at her slinky, backless gown best as an American hardware heiress who marries an English lord only to find out it's but a marriage of convenience. She then becomes the shocking party queen of London in this mildly racy Pre-Code comedy.
Man, I could watch Connie Bennett do anything...
I've had that one on my external hard drive for months, but I haven't watched it yet. Glad to hear that I have something to look forward to! I read the book, and it was okay.Just finished watching
The Dressmaker (2015)
A glamorous woman returns to her small town in rural Australia. With her sewing machine and haute couture style, she transforms the women and exacts sweet revenge on those who did her wrong.
Loved this movie and highly recommend it.

In A Valley of Violence
A mysterious stranger and a random act of violence drag a town of misfits and nitwits into the bloody crosshairs of revenge.
I really, really liked it! Strongly recommend it.
I watched it here

I like this shirt.
Watched Split (2016) a few days ago. James McAvoy was incredible - I haven't seen him in many movies, but he knocked this one out of the park! Really liked Betty Buckley's performance too. Couldn't remember where I'd seen her before...she was Miss Collins in the original Carrie!
This was my second favorite M. Night Shyamalan movie thus far (The Sixth Sense first and Devil ranking next after Split). I didn't mind The Village and Signs, but didn't care for Lady in the Water, even though I love Paul Giamatti.
I didn't know that - thank you so much for giving me something to look forward to!!I was so excited to learn there will be a sequel called "Glass" (next year)...love Bruce Willis' "Unbreakable" character.
I admired both (hard to say you 'like' a Cronenberg film). The stairway scene and the naked fistfight in Eastern Promises were both pure Cronenberg--lol.Speaking of "violence" in the title, "A History of Violence" with Viggo Mortensen and Maria Bello was surprisingly good, except Grandma had some major flinching during the, um, stairway scene. The violence didn't get to her, but that part did.
"Eastern Promises," also with Viggo, was another surprise winner for us.
And she was the stepmom on Eight is Enough (are you old enough to remember that show?)Watched Split (2016) a few days ago. LOL I am more than old enough to remember, but didn't see it because we weren't allowed to watch much TV.And she was the stepmom on Eight is Enough (are you old enough to remember that show?)
Loved Split (McAvoy is incredible in absolutely everything--I think I have just about every movie he's made. Have you seen Being Jane? To. Die. For.) until the end. I loathed and despised that. Shyamalamadingdong hasn't nailed an ending in years. Still, I'm looking forward to Glass, I think.
