...kinda neat that we are all on the same "bat station, same bat channel"...mine?...as a young man growing up during the time of the Civil rights movement...seeing Captain Kirk kiss Lt. Uhura will always stick with me....

Oh, me, too. I was keeping the nice old lady next door company, and she would graciously let me watch Star Trek at her house. I'm sure she wondered WTH was it all about, but she watched. That episode came on, and she made an incredulous comment that I can't and won't repeat here, but she was old and white, and this was in the late '60s, and you get the idea. I did not mention that I kinda crushed on Uhura (and Yeoman Rand, when she was around).

Wow, I had forgotten about the SNL Buckwheat skit, that was great.
Another fantastic SNL skit was when Steve Martin and Gilda Radner danced together. Everyone at first thought it was going to be something to laugh at, but after about 30 seconds we all realized that these two CAN dance! Now THAT was entertainment!!

Just thought of another one. Coming back from a cruise vacation, sitting in the airport, I found out that Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, had been killed by a stingray.

Yeah, that was terrible. My wife, my son and I all liked his shows very much. My son especially got a kick out of the way he talked and how much he loved animals. That was tragic. He seemed like a genuinely nice person.

When I heard that I just stared blankly at the TV for a few minutes. I think I was seven at the time.

I didn't really comprehend it.
