Granted, the intros are similar, but the real strengths of Stairway are Robert Plant's vocals (and vocal melodies), Jimmy Page's guitar solo, and the dynamic shift from ballad to full out rocker. Bonham's drums alone separate the two songs.

The Spirit song doesn't have any of that.
Any news on this?

Hmmm I have them all on vinyl because I am ancient.

Edit - I might actually re-buy some of them becasue mine are a bit scratched and otehrwise damaged by my behaviour and habits in the late 70s and 80s.

I was right on the edge when I saw he's on the tour , but Dave Matthews won out. That is, if I decide I don't mind going by myself and can get a ticket.
Not a big fan of the Dave Matthews Band, but I enjoyed Ringo Starr and His All Star Band (including Todd Rundgren) when I saw them back in 2012 at the State Theater in Easton, PA.

I’d consider the Bangor gig if it weren’t for that fear I have of the Witty Woman’s Wicked Woodchopper. :)

Nothing to worry about. Even though it's got wheels, it would be a RPITA to transport. I'm worried enough about getting a parking spot without having to deal with that, too. ;)

When I mentioned to my SO that I'd like to go when they announced on the news that both would be here on the same day, he was amazed that I would prefer Dave Matthews over Ringo just because, well, it's RINGO and would I ever get an opportunity to see him again whereas this is the second time Dave Matthews has come to Bangor so more chance of a repeat later. I didn't know about Todd Rundgren until I looked earlier to see who was in his All Starr Band and I have to confess I don't mind his music but still not enough even with a ticket price of almost $30 less for them.

Well, we now know who has the taste in that household. ;):)
