Hi!

I'm doing a drive by thread! :) (I'm in a hurry and have to go but wanted to start this thread!)

My after Thanksgiving sandwich. Slices of turkey, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and mayo between lightly toasted bread. Double decked. (Yes, I know it's a club sandwich. BUT! I make it my OWN!) (Kosher pickle and Ruffle potato chips are a must.)

Breakfast sandwich. One egg cooked medium well (the egg white cooked but the yolk runny) sausage patty, and potato planks. Between two lightly toasted, BUTTERED bread slices. (Ahhhh. To bite into that sandwich and have the egg yolk run down my chin. Heaven.)

My, "I am back in the hood" sandwich! Two slices of Spam (Yes, dahmit. SPAM!) fried to a golden brown with cold tomato slices and chopped Serrano peppers between two soft slices of bread. (With Lay's potato chips. And and a diet Coke. Ha!)

;;D

What are your favorite sandwiches? (Details, please!)

(BTW-YES! I love the generic whipped sandwich spread. Ha!)

Peace.

It's gone now, but a place in town had this buffalo chicken wrap with just the right amount of crunch in the lettuce and other vegetable, the buffalo sauce was sublime, the chicken was tender, and I had a foodgasm every time I got that sandwich.

I like a Five Guys every six months or so.

A grilled cheese with garlic powder on the buttered grilled bread is pretty darn good, as are the quesadilla versions of that, particularly with green chiles and grilled chicken added, with a nice salsa and guacamole.

Pastrami and swiss on rye. MMMMmmmmmmm........

What I use now for work. Have had a variety of lunchboxes, one Styrofoam, another the 6-pack Igloo, packet of blue ice on top to keep things cool. Sandwiches are a way of life for me and I have taken as many as three sandwiches to work as few as one. When I was in Florida...and since then too...two slices of bread, Miracle Whip, lunch-meat...and that varied, everything from bologna, pickle & pimento loaf, all manner of ham, turkey, roast beef, salami, Spam, leftover hot dogs and the one constant other then bread and Miracle Whip, tomatoes, lettuce if it was a two-sandwich or one-sandwich day. Tomatoes help with the same kind of thing that bananas are good for...potassium I think, other stuff. Salt on the tomatoes...tuna fish, too...slice of processed cheese food often. From the whitetail I harvest in the fall/winter I have a variety of sausage made, summer, salami, country plus one hindquarter smoked and sliced thin. At times I've used a better quality cheese, real cheese any number of varieties. Bread varies from wheat, white, rye. Once in a blue moon I'll put dill pickle slices on the sandwich. Grilled cheese and jam is good, too, say if you're home. Any sandwich is good if you can fry/heat up the meat in a pan before you pile it on. Out in the bush you can build a small fire and toast your sandwich on the V of a branch.

I don't make good sandwiches. My favorite kind are sub sandwiches. I like Subway the most, so far (though sometimes I wish I didn't have to go through the picking of the ingredients process). I like Philly Cheesesteak as well as Black Forest Ham. I have them put fresh spinach, pepper jack, pickles, black olives, sliced pickled jalapenos, mustard, mayo, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper. I choose the 9-Grain Honey Oat bread.
