In our move I've come across a few books that I hadn't seen for a while. One of them is a book of questions meant to initiate discussions. I'd like to share a few one or two (no more than three) at a time. Have at it!

1. If you could wake up tomorrow with a new talent or ability, what would it be?

2. Is there anyone you envy enough to trade lives with?

3. Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would bring peace to the world? How about a not-so-innocent person? If the latter, explain why the one and not the other.

My answers:
1. The ability to play the guitar at maestro level
2. No
3. No and no.
Tery, you need to check out the channel Vsauce on YouTube. It is a channel dedicated to answering (or trying to) weird scientific questions and phenomena. Your post reminded me of this.

.....keep the woodchipper, buy a shovel, dump the offal into the chipper, turn said chipper on and point it geographically toward Dio's hovel.....
Hmmmmmm.... The following pox upon you:

8 years Donald Trump
8 years Mike Pence
8 years Ivanka Trump
8 years Jared Kushner
8 years Barron Trump
Then starts the presidential reign of the Ivanka/Jared brood

:)

1. If you could wake up tomorrow with a new talent or ability, what would it be? Time Travel.

2. Is there anyone you envy enough to trade lives with? Roland Deschain.

3. Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would bring peace to the world? How about a not-so-innocent person? If the latter, explain why the one and not the other. Nope on both accounts, no such thing as peace in our world no matter what one person does.

I assume this means non-supernatural ones, like immortality, teleportation, omniscience, omnipotence. Because any of those would be pretty cool.

To understand, remember, and synthesize all the information I find.

2. Is there anyone you envy enough to trade lives with?

Nope.

3. Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would bring peace to the world? How about a not-so-innocent person? If the latter, explain why the one and not the other.

Well, as DiO intimated, this boils down to, "Are you willing to be responsible for the deaths of one person or millions of people?" Because by not sacrificing the one person, I doom millions of others to shredding by bombs, bullets, and blades. I'm sorry. Someone's going to bite it.

I'd love to be able to play a musical instrument, preferably stringed or drums.

2. Is there anyone you envy enough to trade lives with?
Nope

No to both. We 'see through a glass darkly' about other people--I can't claim to fully understand myself, let alone someone else. Now, to protect my own life or the life of others in an emergency situation, I would kill (so I'm no saint).

A prolonged life (as long as I could keep my health, vigour and memories). For good or ill, I would love to see where we are 100 years from now.

2. Is there anyone you envy enough to trade lives with?
No. BUT... if I had to choose: Mick Jagger.

3. Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would bring peace to the world? How about a not-so-innocent person? If the latter, explain why the one and not the other.

An innocent, never. A scumbag, yes. I could live with the latter.

Would you give up half of your possessions for a pill that would make it so you only needed an hour of sleep every night, with no ill effects, always feeling refreshed?

Half of my possessions would also include half of my Stephen King collection. That's a big fat negative.
