I think it's great you have a work out routine period Neesy.
Thanks - only got to go a few times this week as it has been hectic, but hoping that next week I can do Monday through Thursday for sure (working this coming weekend on the 26th and 27th so I will get the Friday before that off).

Under your bed
I had to have my eldest cat CJ put to sleep at the vets on Wednesday - he was not doing very well lately - vet says it was renal failure - he passed peacefully without any pain.

Oh dang. Sorry for your loss, Nees. I had to have my old Scotty girl Meg put down a couple of months ago--kidneys went out on her. Woulda donated one of mine, but, you know...she was a dog. Those are some damn tough decisions to make, lemme tell yez.

Hi Alexandra M, I'm part of that small fanclub. Go out on an ice cold, blustery day and you pretty well have the whole world to yourself. All the best, mal.
That's what you think

Next time it's minus 40 with a windchill in Winnipeg I'm gonna drive around in four wheel, looking for the crazy guy in a parka!

Thanks muskrat - it was so sad - had him since he was a kitten

256x256 - Copy (17).jpg That is CJ in the back and the little one in front is Bailey.

By the way - sorry about your dog Meg - they say losing a dog is harder (perhaps it is) - I just know that when you get close to any pet it hurts when it's time for them to move on.

Thanks ghost

:cheerful:

I'm not sure how my son is going to deal with our dog passing away eventually. Bailey, our dog, has been following him around literally since he learned how to walk more than twelve years ago when we first got her. They've grown up together. She goes where he goes, sleeps at his feet, and will lick his face endlessly if he'll let her. She's starting to develop glaucoma in both eyes and has some hip issues she's been dealing with but still spins in circles the minute he comes in the door welcoming him home.

It is tough - I had been watching CJ for quite a while and wondering how he was doing.

I think you'll know when the time comes - your son will understand - it would probably be good if he was there at the time (that is assuming you have to go to the vets) Apparently some pets just die in their sleep :dispirited::dog:

I learned something new:

We could have taken his body with us to bury, but the law in my city is you are not allowed to do that - we would have had to take him outside the city limits i.e. if perhaps we had a cabin or a summer home

We just paid extra for the cremation instead

If it's a small breed he probably has quite a few good years to go - so don't worry :encouragement:

I'm hoping she has a few good years left. The medication the vet has her on for the glaucoma is slowing it down, but she said there isn't a whole lot that can be done when it affects both eyes in her case, it's just a matter of time. I'll let it go as long as I can. Definitely not something I'm looking forward to. It's weird how pets become almost literally a part of your family...

Neesy, I'm so sorry you lost your cat. I think I told you I grew up with a Siamese cat, Mittens. They can be loud and aloof, but I still cry thinking about that kitty. I had her since I was five and went away to college 13 years later. My mom called one week on a Wednesday and said she was not doing well and probably wouldn't make it through the night. I cried and cried knowing I wasn't with this kitty who had slept next to me every night, listened to teenage Dana spill her secrets, and meowed her secrets right back to me. When I was able to come home that Friday, I was surprised to see my sweet friend had waited for me. She died less than an hour later in my arms. It was the first time I saw my dad cry. I will never forget him saying, "I'm crying some about the cat, but mostly because you're hurting so much. She waited to die until you could come home and say goodbye. "

I know you are sad. Seeing the picture of your beautiful cats made my heart hurt for you. I hope you don't mind my telling you my story. Siamese cats are different and special. So sorry for your loss.
