I enjoyed the lighter tone and laugh out loud moments with Carol, too. I don't read the comics butI figured out his backstory on my own before it was revealed (at least the initial things he divulged to Carol). I'm anxious to get back to the group, though. It appears next episode is going to be a Darryl episode. I wonder if Dwight is going to end up redeeming himself and helping Darryl?
There's no low to which I won't stoop.
I couldn't stop thinking of you when I watched that...that's what the son of a b*tch is for.
There were a lot of people dressed as Negan for Halloween.
whack a glenn..haha,I had to laugh at that..Odd...
TWD didn’t follow up with the Whack-a-Glenn trauma to the group, or the non-hero sendoff letdown of Abraham. And a likable new character (the show jumped thesharktiger with that one) that is not part of Rick’s group... when does that ever happen?
Sure they weren't just bikers?
Re: the last ep
Apart from what was quite possibly some of the worst (but probably still expensive) CGI I've seen since the mid-90s, especially when it's possible to work with trained tigers or do a double shoot then overlay (or whatever the technical terms are) like in the old days, I quite liked this one. Why you wouldn't get Morgan to teach everyone aikido is a bit beyond me, but never mind. The bit I liked best was when Carol started doing her bright-eyed 'Oh my!' routine again then immediately went straight to 'You're ****ting me, right?' - although I said at the time that Ezekiel didn't seem to be going for it. Turned out he did, or so he said, but...nah, she kind of overplayed the Suzie Homemaker thing. Someone like that would never have survived for so long if it were genuine.
If there's a gripe it's that the producers have shown their hand too early in the season. It's pretty clear that, at some point, Hilltop, The Kingdom and Alexandria (and maybe others) are going to group together to match Negan's numbers. It'll clear the decks but in another way it'll be another 'Here's a Big Bad! Bigger and Badder than anything else! Oh, hang on...yeah, done by season's end. Not so tough after all', and tbh that gets a bit tiring, not to mention limiting, as I said or at least hinted at before.
YES! I'm tired of Carol. NO ONE would buy that, especially with her claiming to have been living rough ("We've been eating possum!" or whatever stupid thing she said). Let her die if she wants to so badly.
Daryl is the same. He's long outlived his usefulness/story arc. The only thing left for him to do, as they 'redeemed' his character already, is to go bad/join the Saviours, then go 'good ' again with a grand gesture before he dies. Bah. Not worth the work and trouble. Kill him, too.
Not sure if they're going to follow the comic arc, but I can see this arc lasting at least 2 seasons. The next 'baddies' are a different kind of scary than Negan--not sure how they'll go over on TV, but the writers DID lay the groundwork for them in the third season, in the episode "Clear" (the Morgan episode).

If I recall correctly from the episode where they went to the CDC center in Atlanta,Agree,
Daryl can just go and I've been ready for it for a number of years. I still think Carol is the most interesting character, until this season. I'm not liking the direction her character is taking in these first couple episodes. Haven't we been through crisis of character with her before, yawn.
And as someone mention above, they have jumped the shark with this tiger sh*t. Do I understand what Ezek is doing for these people? sure. What he is trying to be for these people? yes. But not easily on board just yet.
I did like the fact that they were feeding the pigs walker meat. What will be the outcome of doing that? Will that group of people get sick and die? Some walker disease? Or perhaps immunity to bites because they eat it? I'm curious about that.
Yes, he did, so maybeIf I recall correctly from the episode where they went to the CDC center.in Atlanta, the doc there told Rick they were all already infected, that is,as carriers at least..and who knows, maybe that dead infection can suddenly pop up as being live and kill everyone left..you never know with infectious diseases.
It is so odd to think of aYes, he did, so maybeactually eating the meat, that might mutate something already inside to have an "active infection."
