1. Do you have a landline telephone in your residence?
Yep

2. Do you believe the importance of "being a gentleman" or "being a lady" has changed over time?
I think it's changed in personal importance, which is sad. It's still of universal importance, in the sense that being a lady or gentleman is about making things work smoothly and pleasantly as often as possible.

3. Do you maintain a "yard" or a "lawn" or do you reside where you must go out of your way to walk on grass?
Lawns galore

4. When looking for a parking spot, say in a large parking area or perhaps a parking garage, what criteria do you use or do you swing into the first available slot?
I like to be close to the doors, but any port in a storm is fine with me.

5. Have you ever dined at a table that had a red checkered tablecloth?
Yep

6. When it came time for your execution, if you can imagine you've been convicted of a heinous crime, do you think you would be able to walk to your death unassisted, or would they have to take you there screaming and kicking, perhaps under sedation?
I think I could walk

7. Say you're walking along the avenue, a fairly populated avenue, vehicle traffic, pedestrians, and you heard someone shout, "get down! get down!" would you look around to see who was being addressed, or would you get down?
Fleeting glance in the direction of the voice as I crouched, I imagine.

8. Have you ever participated in a rumble?
Gang fight, a'la The Outsiders? Nope. Personal fight? Yep

9. As a child, did you find the idea of an Easter Bunny somewhat hilarious...coming as it does after Christmas, or did you buy into the idea of the fabled rabbit and perhaps still hold dearly to that belief?
I loved all those magical things, and still do.

10. You're back on the avenue again, having dusted off your clothing, when you look in the distance and see a person running like the wind, a crowd chasing this person, an angry crowd. It is within your power to either stop the person or not to interfere. The person you imagine running, is it a male or a female? and what do you do? Stop? Or step back and watch?
My first visual image was a man running. I think I'd step back and try to figure out what was going on before I inserted myself where I might do more harm than good.

1. What is the best dish that you prepare?
everyone likes my spaghetti...I mix the sauce/meat in with the noodles once it is all cooked up, maybe that's it.

2. When was the last time that you were really scared?
several times recently...people in the other lane headed my way, their vehicle starts across the centerline...more than once, three four times...I'm asking myself, what! am I marked or what? then the other day I'm at the stop in Dollar Bay...there by DB Linoleum & Tile? Traffic coming both ways, lady headed north pulls in...thought for sure she was going to hit me. She corrected in time. What is it? Cell phones?

3. What is the worst time of the day?
probably the second dog-watch though i don't mind, quiet, get things done

4. What's the last thing you ate?
a wild raspberry...out in the bush

5. Do you text?
i have, yes, from time-to-time

6. When was the last time you embarrassed yourself in public?
ummm...i dunno...i have no shame

7. Do you sometimes laugh at the wrong times?
yes...three four days maybe three weeks after i hear the joke...it dawns on me...oh! NOW I GET IT! i think I forgot it and then out of the blue there it is.

8. When was the last time you helped a stranger?
last night...couldn't sleep...so I took a walk, some stranger was dragging a heavy object into the woods up behind the house. i said hey partner, hold up there! i'll give you a hand. had a shovel so i carried that, helped him drag this old rug into the bushes. real environmentally conscious guy, we took turns digging a hole to bury the rug...the waste station was closed. helped him spread some leaves over the dirt, tried to restore the area to its natural state. i felt better. went home and slept like a baby. well, no, there was something recently though i can't remember the details, something minor, pointing another in the right direction, that kind of thing.

9. What shoes are you wearing?
my work tennies, a pair of asics...had to pull one off to see what brand it actually is. :)

1. Do you have a landline telephone in your residence?
No, just cell phones.

2. Do you believe the importance of "being a gentleman" or "being a lady" has changed over time?
Oh yeah! Don't see much of either any more.

3. Do you maintain a "yard" or a "lawn" or do you reside where you must go out of your way to walk on grass?
A yard. We are on about a half acre of land.

I don't drive any more, but Karen swings into the firse spot she can.

5. Have you ever dined at a table that had a red checkered tablecloth?
I have. It was a little mom, and pop diner that has long since been closed. Had the best food!

6. When it came time for your execution, if you can imagine you've been convicted of a heinous crime, do you think you would be able to walk to your death unassisted, or would they have to take you there screaming and kicking, perhaps under sedation?
They better sedate me heavily!

7. Say you're walking along the avenue, a fairly populated avenue, vehicle traffic, pedestrians, and you heard someone shout, "get down! get down!" would you look around to see who was being addressed, or would you get down?
I think I'd look around first. Split second decision I guess.

It is a man, and I clothsline that sucker!

1. Do you have a landline telephone in your residence?

Yes - we still do, which is a bit strange since we all have cell phones.

2. Do you believe the importance of "being a gentleman" or "being a lady" has changed over time?

I would hope people are still being taught good manners, however sometimes it's hard to see people act rudely. In a way I am glad we are not stuck in our previous gender roles where one had to act a certain way (yup - that is how old I am!). :)

3. Do you maintain a "yard" or a "lawn" or do you reside where you must go out of your way to walk on grass?

Yes - at the front we have a yard with grass - also one in the back yard with a flower garden, but now that we have a big garage out there and also a tent trailer up for the summer there is not as much grass to take care of as before.

4. When looking for a parking spot, say in a large parking area or perhaps a parking garage, what criteria do you use or do you swing into the first available slot?

I try to avoid door dings and now that I am trying to be more active I will not look for a spot close to the entrance, like I used to.

5. Have you ever dined at a table that had a red checkered tablecloth?

I think I did! I believe it was in Cyprus in 1995 - very charming place with fresh lemonade

6. When it came time for your execution, if you can imagine you've been convicted of a heinous crime, do you think you would be able to walk to your death unassisted, or would they have to take you there screaming and kicking, perhaps under sedation?

Gee - weird question! I think we would all like to be like a stoic, steely-eyed hero (or heroine) just like in a movie. Myself I would like Batman or some other super-hero to swoop in at the last second to rescue me! (again - just like in a movie) :m_starstruck:

7. Say you're walking along the avenue, a fairly populated avenue, vehicle traffic, pedestrians, and you heard someone shout, "get down! get down!" would you look around to see who was being addressed, or would you get down?

I would get down immediately (that is the kind of thing they taught us in basic training back in the Dark Ages) (and then I would find out it was someone talking to their unruly dog) :m_snicker:

8. Have you ever participated in a rumble?

What?! (see up above - answer to question two)

9. As a child, did you find the idea of an Easter Bunny somewhat hilarious...coming as it does after Christmas, or did you buy into the idea of the fabled rabbit and perhaps still hold dearly to that belief?

Of course I believed in all that stuff! Who doesn't want a nice chocolate bunny in April
:icon_eek::chew::drool:

10. You're back on the avenue again, having dusted off your clothing, when you look in the distance and see a person running like the wind, a crowd chasing this person, an angry crowd. It's Walt! Walter Oobleck from the SKMB! I dive in to grab his ankles - throw him in the back of my pickup truck and off we go into the sunset together - to discuss how long his wife is going to let him stay out, discussing manners and all matter of things with refined and elegant Neesy.

I will make sure he gets home before his curfew is up, of course. :apple::yes_pig:

Thanks - excellent questions! :snot_bubble: (beg pardon)

Weekly Survey, 8/28/2016

1. Do you have a landline telephone in your residence? Yes.

2. Do you believe the importance of "being a gentleman" or "being a lady" has changed over time? The important has not changed, however the mannerisms of being a gentle or lady are passing the way of the dinosaur. Etiquette of my generation is not as common for today's generation.

3. Do you maintain a "yard" or a "lawn" or do you reside where you must go out of your way to walk on grass? Large yard.

4. When looking for a parking spot, say in a large parking area or perhaps a parking garage, what criteria do you use or do you swing into the first available slot? Park as far way from other cars as possible.

5. Have you ever dined at a table that had a red checkered tablecloth? Yes.

6. When it came time for your execution, if you can imagine you've been convicted of a heinous crime, do you think you would be able to walk to your death unassisted, or would they have to take you there screaming and kicking, perhaps under sedation? Hope I would be able to walk un assisted.

7. Say you're walking along the avenue, a fairly populated avenue, vehicle traffic, pedestrians, and you heard someone shout, "get down! get down!" would you look around to see who was being addressed, or would you get down? Down first, look around second.

8. Have you ever participated in a rumble? Nope- just peace marches.

9. As a child, did you find the idea of an Easter Bunny somewhat hilarious...coming as it does after Christmas, or did you buy into the idea of the fabled rabbit and perhaps still hold dearly to that belief? Have to believe in the magic of The Easter Bunny.

Most likely male. Step back, not in physical shape to interfere.
