The friscalating hedgerows quivered in the early evening breeze, casting whispery voices between one another as if to arouse the suspicions of us lowly, cantacious human beings...
Your forthcoming honeyed nomenclature has vehemently made it as transparent as a glass-wing butterfly alighting on the rhododendron trellising on the dirty scullery of life.

Indeed. Trellising as ever thus, trusting the rushing blush to flush her ivory cheeks, feeling weak in her knobby knees as flea spread infectious disease throughout the quellic cellar of her stomach...

We better quit before Flake thinks we're writing fiction, heh heh...

Oops, yeah, we could write those two sentences in a book and sell it to the upper crusters.

The woods are lovely dark and deep
About 1/4 of the way into A Head Full of Ghosts. I have to admit, I am not loving it. I read all the glowing reviews here about it so I thought it would be better. Is there more to it than the typical girl possessed/haunted story that it is so far?
I am about 40 pages in, I'm not liking the choppy style of story telling. Or maybe its me, too much other stuff. Picked this up from the library along with Niceville, another of Mr. King's recommendations. Had been waiting for the return of Feed, its way overdue as it is*, but was close to losing AHFoG so I substituted.

*I could never keep a book past its due date, never, never, never. Someone else might be waiting for it!!!!!:angry_002:

The Coming of the Strangers by John Lymington and The Burden of Proof by James Barlow.
Going to start tonight The Shining and East of Eden as I found them together at the bottom of a cupboard as I'm cleaning the house out since the last of my parents died.
Also just heard on the radio a fantastic conversation with one of the guitarists from the Australian band, The Angels. He talks about ACDC, David Bowie, and other things, really interesting.
John Brewster Jones' unique insight into Australian rock - ABC Conversations with Richard Fidler

Just finished As I Lay Dying. I feel like my mind has been assaulted-- but in a good way (I think?). I feel like this is a normal reaction to reading Faulkner.
My mind felt assaulted by Faulkner as well, but not in a good way! ;) My senior year of college I had a course on Faulkner and wasn't a fan. I plan on reading his work again, in case a little maturity on my part could change my perspective. I applaud you for reading that book, it wasn't an easy read.
