Dark Forces. I had a copy years ago, but it disappeared. So I bought it again! I was thinking this was the one with "The Night Flyer'", but it has "The Mist" (a good story, as well). Does anyone remember which anthology first had "The Night Flyer"?

Nightmares and Dreamscapes if I remember correctly ma'am.

I think Dark Forces is the best horror anthology ever. There are so many amazing and wonderful stories in that book.

The woods are lovely dark and deep
IAIN REID, I'm thinking of ending things, 100 pages in on this one, dunno where we are going.

JAMES LEE BURKE, The jealous kind, next to read after 100 pages of Lily.

STEPHEN ROWLEY, Lily and the octopus, Lily is a dog and the octopus is a brain tumor, I think. Have a feeling I will need a tissue box in each room where I am reading this story.

Came across a book I had in storage over the weekend called "Book of the Dead", collection of short stories about zombies and the undead from several different authors, including "Home Delivery" from Mr. King. So far, all the stories have been good. George Romero wrote the introduction to the book and that was also very interesting. I honestly don't recall buying this one but it says it was published in 1989. It's somewhat worn so I must have bought it at a used bookstore but I have no recollection of purchasing it. Very good read so far.

Not sure how I missed this one. I guess I didn't at some point but then forgot about it. I need to go thru all my boxes of books, no telling what's in there....
...I'm re-reading this one right now....you'd like it......

I finished Louise Erdrich's LaRose and it has restored my faith in the Literary Fiction genre. Erdrich is such a wonderful writer. She conjures up so many rich images and thought provoking ideas within prose that seems to flow, stop & start and soar all at the same time. Just beautiful.

Riding the high of such a great author, I was inspired to read a Margaret Atwood novel that has avoided my attention since its publication (for no real reason) The Robber Bride. Once again, I am caught up in wonderful ideas and well-written prose by an author I admire. Atwood is one of my favorite authors and I am glad there are still a few books of hers I have not read. What a treat!

Thanks Dana!
I do still pop on from time to time, just work and life getting in the way of reading (as usual).
My "tbr" pile keeps growing too, added quite a few over the last couple of months and barely read anything. If anything I am re-reading stuff rather than the new ones I keep buying :a11:
Oh, I know that feeling!:icon_eek::hammer:
