I'm sorry Sundrop.

It's strange. I could not tell you the day, or year my parents went to the clearing. Or friends.
I should know this. I don't think of it. - Not because it did not devastate me, it did.
And I am shocked when I find out how long it has been.

Keep thinking mom's gonna call. Guess I blocked it.

Now crying. bah. I do remember all their birthdays as soon as I wake.

Me too, I know when my folks passed, but I prefer to remember the days they were born, instead.
It took me a very very long time to not expect to talk to my Mom on Sunday, that was our special phone chat day.

RIP - how old was he when he died?

Thanks, Neesy......Red roses were his favorite ♥ I usually only take one red rose for his birthday, but there was this really cool one that was orange with deep red edges, so I took that one too...because it was cool.
Mark was 26 when he died.

Yup. Getting to be that time of year for me too, Sundrop -Nov 10th, then my dad on the 17th. (((hugs forever)))

Straightened up the front living room, did a little grocery shopping, made a liquor store run, and bought a chair for the now straightened living room :) A new Habitat for Humanity Re-Store opened up here today--GREAT stuff! We're going to be keeping an eye out for a cabinet for the kitchen, too. Now I have to speed read the latest Bridget Jones book--it just arrived today, and the pub date was the 11th of this month. I wasn't sure if my editor would still want a review, but he does, so into the drink I go! Our houseguest leaves tomorrow morning, but we won't see much of him before that--the kids went for the ritual Introduction to Grandma (lol), then hiking and out to dinner. Tonight they're going to Rocky Horror. It's gone very well! I suspect that the've discovered that they're more buddies than boyfriend/girlfriend, but I won't get the DL until after he leaves--HAHA!
I thought about you when I was buying the roses. It never really fades, does it? Love & Daisies to you.....♥ (((((Skimom2)))))

Thanks, Y'all ♥

Yeah DJ, my dad is still here. I don't speak of him much because he wasn't much, and still isn't. I suppose he does need some good thoughts, too, though. ♥

Today, I'm preparing to have a few friends over for an evening of good ol' fellowship. We're going to have a fire in the fire pit, carve pumpkins, drink some wine, and eat some appetizers and desserts. Each person is bringing a dessert or an appetizer, and a bottle of wine to share. I'm making cucumber/cream cheese tea sandwiches and pumpkin bars.
I'm really looking forward to it, but I always worry a little bit that my house isn't good enough, or that I'll be awkward and weird......

Sounds like a right smart soirée, Ms. Sunny. What's the main course? I mean, a man doesn't live by cucumber sandwiches alone...get some pig on that spit, dearie...

Well my mum is certainly having a less eventful day than yesterday when she started out with a 20 minute journey turning into 1 hour because of a fatal crash. She was going the hospital to get stitches removed from a minor surgery on her forehead. She had 5 external stitches on a quite sizable slit. At about 12.30am she sneezed and the wound split right open. She spent 3 and a half hours in a+e where a nurse told her a wound that big needed 5 internal stitches and 8 external.

That's awful! It must have been scary for her. Hope your Mom is feeling better now.

We went on a hunt for a pumpkin. First store was sold out. Second store, they might have been diseased....the few they had left had pumpkin warts. I don't know if that's a real thing, but they looked like pumpkin warts. Third store had a lot, various sizes. Picked one up because DS has decided he wants to carve one this year.

Also went to pick up a prescription that had been called in. The woman ahead of us was showing the pharmacist her arms, and pointing to her back and legs. Pharmacist took her into a room (where they give flu shots) and as she was walking in I saw these blisters all over the woman's arms...in various stages. The pharmacist gave her a number of a clinic to go to. When we got to the counter I immediately asked the pharmacist to clean the counter before putting my stuff in it. She shouldn't have needed me to ask. She should have immediately done that.

Yuck - does this happen often? I have never heard of someone going to a pharmacy for something like that - yikes!
