Awesome toys! Marx with Best of the West and Noble Knights! Liddle Kiddles by Mattel were the best and cutest dolls ever, now ridiculously overpriced collector's items:
The only thing wrong was they were made with wires that would rust and break, so it's hard to find them intact and without blue/green stains. With a few modifications, using similar bodies and same head molds, they could be made today, and new ones designed along the same lines added to make them more ethnically diverse, but no, Mattel won't hear of it! My family and others have received extremely curt, rude, and snotty replies over the years. There were some perfectly hideous remakes in 1976 and they leased the name out to other companies to make updated ones around 1996, but of course not nearly as good as the originals, nor has anything else ever been. (Sad to say, I've paid attention for 40 years.) Companies would rather crank out cheap monstrosities when the same materials could go into producing quality items.
