Wow! That's really fascinating! I have recurring "house" dreams, too, so your post piqued my interest. In mine, there is the house we live in, but there's also this "other" house that we supposedly bought but there was complications with the sale so it's been kind of just sitting there for years in limbo, and I always wonder why we can't just straighten everything out and move there already. It's a big house that needs major renovations, with lots of rooms full of old junk, and whenever I explore, there is also a sense of dread. But there are so many bathrooms and bedrooms that we could use! It's maddening.
Anyway, I was just thinking about this last night as I hooked up our dumb portable dishwasher to the sink. I would love a much bigger kitchen with a large sink. By the time I finish a bout of washing dishes by hand, there is always so much water on the floor that it looks like we're going down on the
Titanic. There's just no neat way to rinse off the bigger things. A built-in dishwasher would be amazing.
-Lots more electrical outlets (our house was built in 1940, so there aren't many)
-More than one bathroom!
-Definitely with everyone about the big porch with a swing--there's nothing I like better on summer nights than just sitting on the porch and reading or staring off into space. We have a small one, but it's basically about to collapse, lol.
-Several spare rooms. I need one for my art studio, husband needs his own gaming room (ideally as far away as possible from said art studio
) and at least one more for the sole purpose of displaying collectibles (aka, my toys). Heck, the cats can have a room of their own, too.
-Big windows are a must.
-Two-car garage, especially if said dream house is still in New England.
-An attic in which you can go up and walk around, just because I've always wanted one.
-A big yard, and very distant neighbors.
