Okay, so I'm trying to build up my library with classic horror novels from the likes of Ira Levin, Peter Benchley, Thomas Tryon, etc. I've several times stated on the SKMB that I would NEVER have a copy of The Exorcist in my home again as I think it gives off bad-gunky vibes. But, last night I purchased a copy off of Ebay for a really good price. I'm letting you all know this because if some bad-gunky stuff starts happening to me then you all will know that I was right in the first place and to let me know to get rid of that book!! ;-D

I hope that this book will tell you to give me all of your other books... I say, bring that book on!
Got my copy of The Exorcist today. So far it hasn't told me to give you all of my books. I'll let you know if and when it does......NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;;D

Kingfish, you gonna need an extra house just fer yer books! How many you think you have now, rough estimate?

I have probably 500 - 1000 right now, but if I'd kept, not lost, not had stolen, all the books I've owned over the years, it'd be an astronomical sum--not too mention about 5000 comics. Of those, I now probably own a mere hundred. But all primo stuff, but reprints mostly.

Had original E.C.s, tons of Vampirellas, Creepys, Eeries--first issues of all--all the late sixties, early seventies Spideys, dang near full run of Conan, Savage Sword, Sonjas, Groo the frickin Wanderer (great comic); complete run of Swamp Thing, first AND second series, every damn issue, and mint (side note: tore Swampi # one in half to prove to a girlfriend that I 'didn't care for it more than her', stupid move, I know)--and more, much more, tons of seventies Hulks, Avengers, Iron Mans, Bat Mans, ugh...

(Long winded tonight folks)

Anyhoo, lost most all them comics; sold some, had them stolen, lost, burnt (another point-proving display of my zen immaterialism), etc. Wish I'd not been an arse and kept em all.

Still have all my original Alan Moore SWAMP THINGs, though.

Can't rightly say how many I have now. I am gonna say that you have more than I do tho. I probably only have around 500 or so. I sold alot of them on Ebay before I moved as I didn't want to lug them all over the mountain from Seattle to Spokane. Had all of Lansdale's (most signed), all of James Patterson's (all signed!), all of Koontz', all of David Morrell's (all signed!), all of Straub's, too many to name and remember now. I won't make that mistake again. Imma keepin' them ALL!!!!!

When I was a kid & my dad was in the military, I had to cull nearly all my books every 18 mos or so (average time we lived in one place). Since books are heavy and military had a weight limit we could move on the gov't, I could keep one box. It was agonizing (only my original Different Seasons, Alcott's Little Men and Kipling's Jungle Book made it through every move & I still have all of them :D)! Now I have a helluva time getting rid of books--they're every damn place in my house. I have a huge tote of books at the bottom of the stairs that I KNOW I don't want and I STILL can't get rid of them. :p

I have a thread on here somewhere, think it's called 'My Book Collection' or something like that. I took pics and posted them 'cause folken were wanting to see it.

I'm trying to keep my sticky fingers off the books for a few more weeks, as I know I'll load up at the library book sale at the end of the month--lol. Today I did find a brand new Microplane grater (those are spendy!) and a new Pampered Chef stoneware bread pan. The cooks here might appreciate my finds--HAHA. I'll never understand why people buy good kitchen equipment and never use it, then donate it. Or maybe they're gifts, but heck--return 'em or sell 'em! Their loss, my gain, I guess :)

My mother found this at Goodwill on Friday for $2.00. I'm getting a little freaked out because for the past year "something happened" over and over and over again.Like a lifetime of waiting is panning out.Good thing I can't tie all this stuff to number 19 because then I would really be freaked out:)image.jpg

I am so very happy when a member of the SKMB comes across a great find like this! About 10 years ago I came across a mint hardback 1st of Insomnia that was also signed, at a Goodwill in a tiny town north of Seattle. I always wondered how it ended up there.....
