It rained Sunday so I was unable to mow the property. Picked up two 6 foot picnic tables at a great clearance sale. I'm giving one to my brother. Assembly is required and paid $22.48 each. I figured the wood alone costs more than that.

Wow you did good Dio! Ummm, just one thing ummmm are they made with pine from B.C? If they are you may have a little
problem :a11: ;)

Why? Will I need to get my hands on a Roberston screwdriver to assemble it? Don’t know if it’s made from B.C. pine, but I remember the packaging says ‘Environmentally Friendly Product.” I wonder if the wood cut down by beavers. But that does sound like something those crazy Canadians would put on something. :)

No not beavers. Pine Beetles, B C is infested with them. If you look out one morning and the tables are gone, no one stole them, the pine beetles ate them. :a11: oops

This year I’m dealing with Stink Bugs, Kissing Bugs and now the Spotted Lanternfly. One more alien invader won’t matter much. Anyway, any of those three will probably eat your pine beetles... they're probably too darn nice for their own good. :)

What is it? (forgive my SwiftDoggie ignorance)
...fancy shmancy steno machine.....

Indeed. It's called a Luminex, and steno machines have gotten lighter, more sophisticated, and more expensive as the year go on (retail, $5,300).

But the cool thing about this one is that it's the slimmest and lightest yet, with a lot of intuitive programming about compensating for stacking and splitting (don't ask), and so when I board the plane for the next assignment, it's so much easier to schlep around than previous models.

When I started this career in the Dinosaur Age, I bought a used manual machine for $125, rented a Selectric for $25/month, and I was ready to rumble. Now it's high-priced computerized machines, laptop, and high-priced specialty software. Not complaining. I wasn't envisioning sashaying around Seoul at the start of my career, either.

Wow, that’s some pricey tool of the trade!

It does look cool, though!

So, i pulled the trigger and placed my custom guitar order with Charvel :smiley_simmons:

I'm going to call her the SwiftDog Special! She should be pretty sexy when finished :love_heart:

For any guitar nerds on the board, here are the specs:

San Dimas style HSS
Red metallic paint with matching headstock
Ash body
Maple neck (standard San Dimas specs)
Charvel locking tuners (chrome)
Stainless steel jumbo frets
Vintage style tremolo
Neck pickup- Seymour Duncan Cool Rails Strat Neck (White)
Middle pickup- Seymour Duncan Cool Rails Strat Neck (White)
Bridge pickup- Seymour Duncan JB Trembucker (reverse zebra)
Single volume (250k pot)
No load tone control
5 way pickup selector (standard Strat wiring)
Side mounted jack
Medium gauge strings (.011 - .050)
Hardshell case

Put the deposit down on it today. Now I have to wait 6 - 8 months for it to get built

For a custom guitar built to my specs the price was reasonable. Cost me slightly less than a new stock Gibson Les Paul Custom.

I'll share pics once she is built.
