$35, which they will deduct from the total if I go with them. I plan on getting additional quotes. I will use the Lowe's one as my baseline.
They charged me $75 (perhaps it's just me as I can be a bit of a smartass at times, believe it or not). I got my floors installed by the best installer in the area for half of what they came up with in their estimate... and I even had to have part of the floor replaced which he didn't know until he started the demolition.

Good to know.

They don't usually have their own people do install work. They work with local installers and tack on extra so they get something out of it.

Correct. I know they sub-contract the work out. The install rate is supposed to be .89 / ft (for the laminate anyway) according to their promotion. We'll see what it comes back at.

I use this site to get a general idea of what something would cost (or if customers ask, because the company won't give estimates unless they come out and do an inspection). Demolition and debris removal has extra costs.

So I caved in... Despite loving the books and the movies very much, I never wanted to be a Potter nerd. I didn't want to be part of the hype, I refrained from buying any Potter merchandise at all, simply put: I didn't want to be one of those. But it seems like I am now, and a lost cause at that, too. :topsy_turvy: Because last night, I ordered this:

And Primark seems to have purses shaped like this too, I will have to hunt one down... Seriously though, I think the chocolate frogs are one of the most charming things of the entire wizarding world. How could I not? :love_heart:

Three position ceiling fan light switch. The Father-In-Law’s light switch in his kitchen ceiling fan went out months ago. We just recently found out. So this past weekend the wife said I should pick one up and repair it for him. I said I’m no electrician. She said it should be easy. I said for a electrician, maybe. She said why then do I have all those tools. Dang, I guess she had a point. I can't say they're for people who know what they're doing asking me for specific tools and me not having them. So Sunday morning I dust off my electrical tool bag and head down and figured being electrocuted was a better alternative than being shamed by the wife. It ended up being rather easy to fix, but why are they designed to be worked on with hands the size of a 10 year old? The only real problem I encountered was getting all those danged wires back into the housing of the thing when I was done. A major PITA.
