Cake decorating may not technically be a craft as much as it is a skill and I'm not the one who did this, but I'm proud of my daughter for taking it on. She was quoted $4-500!! :icon_eek: to do a birthday cake for my granddaughter like a picture she found so she decided to teach herself. She still had the bakery make the cake itself and then took the decorations to them to be put on the cake. Except for the bigger white and yellow flowers on the second level, she made all the other decorations. The bakery was so impressed they put it on their Facebook page for their cakes of the week.

I am working on my ornament gifts for this year. I decided to do hand painted ornaments. Here's what I have so far.

It was delicious! The top layer was a chocolate cake (can't remember the filling between the layers) and the bottom half was a yellow cake with strawberry and ricotta filling between the layers. We saved the decorations (not sure if she'll hang onto them or eventually toss them out) but had a laugh when we discovered that one of the little ones had eaten the face off the racoon. She must have realized that fondant isn't as tasty as the cake and stopped there. =D

That looks alot like the friendship bracelets I used to do in high school. We did them by hand. Can't imagine trying to do it with cards.;-D

I remember these from middle/high school. They were extremely popular and made and worn by both boys and girls. I have no idea how to make one now, lol.
