Over here the weather is... uncomfortable. I have no other words for it. It's cloudy, windy and not too hot, but is so fricken humid. It ruins everything. I'm looking forward to Saturday though, we're supposed to get rain and thunder.

I always pictured Holland like this:

So I guess this is just a stereotype then?

Sort of, but not entirely! In the west and north of the country it often does look a lot like that. However, I'm in the eastern part, close to Germany, and here the skies are not half as clear and pretty.

Thought I would post some new pictures of the fires. They were taken Tuesday and Wednesday this week and in my section of the City. No evac yet. The Armed Forces have been outstanding and thanks to whoever sent tractor trailer loads of bottled water.

We had some fires in a provincial park called Atikaki and now the smoke has travelled to Winnipeg - probably just a taste of what you guys are going through.

Thunderstorm watch here too - very windy but it's a hot gusty wind.

I think Fall is here, mid 20's during the day and down to single digits at night. Not as much sun either, lots of heavy clouds a some rain every day.
The tally is in for 2018 wildfires in B. C. --- 2,011 fires and 1.3 million hectares of forest destroyed. No tally on the cost, that is going to take awhile.

Yep. I smelled it it the air and felt it in my bones. Hope we get a nice Indian Summer because we still have tomatoes.

Over here it's quite nice! Next week it's going to be warm again, but I'm trying to have faith that it will be nice anyway. After all, it could be the last gasp of summer.

I have never used a mix for mine. Just roll in egg and flour. Then fry in frying pan. I miss growing tomatoes. We have no garden here as our soil is clay pretty much.One of the times I miss Michigan.
