thankfulI'm home. Everything seems to be ok around here.
(((North & South Carolina)))
Hopefully it stays there. Way too early for that stuff!Snowing in the mountains!
thankful
Last night they were calling for 8 feet plus already! But not in the Bighorns, in the Tetons. I don't know if they actually got that much. But I did see an advisory yesterday for the Bighorns aimed towards campers, so it will be enough snowfall to hamper camping. It will drive all the elk, deer and such down early, too. Not great if your hunting tag is for a specific area up high.Hopefully it stays there. Way too early for that stuff!
A big factor is the size of the entire system, especially the feederbands. I think you caught one while in Punta Gorda and that was clear across the state. Never trust one til it dissipates. System headed this way for the weekend-- rain- marker. When Dorian was stalled over the Bahamas, it was almost directly East and approximately 100 miles from my house to the center of the eye. I was amazed when I got home from Punta Gorda that we had not even had much rain. You never know with these storms. Sometimes you can be farther away and get horrible weather. There are a lot of variables.

agreeOne thing that I think I've noticed over the years is that the higher the wind speed, the less distance the very nasty weather goes out from the eye. Of course, that may not hold true every single time but it seems the slower speed storms have bad weather further out and dump more rain. I'm sometimes more scared of waves and depressions than a cat 1 hurricane. Waves and depressions seem to linger and dump huge amounts of rain. We had a wave in the 90s that dumped 20 inches of rain on us in a day.
Here we go again.............. getting stronger and more organized. The one in red due for the weekend.
