Dana Jean Oh, sisterwife! This makes me sad. I'd come help if I could. and Siggy brought donuts. I'd eat them all, I know you don't like carbs.

You don't have to decide right now. We're waiting another week. I thought we'd do it this weekend but the Ogre (of the let's put it up the day after Thanksgiving ilk!) says we need to wait until the big live ones are a little cheaper. Especially since we keep it up through Jan 6th. Maybe you'll feel better next week. Are you doing your PT? I'm going to say a little Novena for you.

Thank you, I accept it with gratitude. No, my PT is done and the maintenance is in my hands. Need to work a little harder. I wish I was in Florida again. I just got back from there and even though the humidity sucked the breath out of me, it also made my back feel better than it has in years. And my therapist gave me a recipe for a tea good for inflammation so need to get those ingredients.

WHY in the name of Zeus' BUTTHOLE do co-workers CONSTANTLY have to come by my desk and tell me how many likes they have received for posting some stupid crap on Facebook? I'm quite sure I have heard "MY FACEBOOK PAGE JUST BLEW UP!!!" about 5 times today. WHO FRIGGIN' CARES??? Are employers obligated to give you a certain amount of time every day to make sure you've received enough self-started false entitlement every hour? Did I miss that memo? I am old, that is all there is to it.....

If I'm ever the direct supervisor for said employees....there will be changes.

These days, if I posted a sign like this, I believe other people would think me mad. Facebook is the millennial generation's narcotic. You should see the distraught look on my co-worker's faces when I tell them I do not Facebook or have a Facebook account. Is "Facebook" used as a verb now? It is isn't it? Signs and wonders I guess.

No they would still bug me because reading the shirt would involve taking their eyes off their phones and there's no chance of that happening. I had my boss tell me a couple of weeks ago she was very impressed at the amount of work I was able to accomplish daily.............................NO SH!T! Most of the other workers, her included, are too busy running to each others' desks telling each other to look at what they posted. If you work more than 15 minutes out of very hour at this place, you're going to stand out.

My neighbor and her son brought me for my home evaluation and the evaluator says they will not discharge me till I have a walker as I am too unsafe for crutches so I am trying to line up one. When I went home I could barely limp around on crutches, slipped several times, broke out in a sweat, and looking at all the stuff that needs to be done caused severe pain. I was a wreck the last two Christmases. We had a terrible crisis in 2013. I was almost in a holiday spirit when two days before Christmas several family members basically started freaking out left and right--made me so nervous my fingernails have not been so badly bitten since after watching Firestarter many years ago--and this was not all sorted out until summer. In 2014 I was just tired of it all and don't know what I did. Then this year I started going overboard with fall/winter decorations, and acquired a bunch of stuff, and stuff to organize the stuff, so now that's all sitting there not getting done, and I'm kind of back to where I was in 2013 when my arm went bad, of how much is it going to hurt to do this job and will it be so much it's not worth doing or I wouldn't do it well if I did try, and how much should I try to do?

Is there anyway your neighbor and her son could help you decorate a little. May not be all the decorations but some would bring the spirit into your home. Or maybe they know a church group. I know when my mom lived up north, the churches, even if not a member, would go out to the elderly or those alone or ill and help decorate their home. Put up the tree, garland. Make sure they felt the joy of the season.

Cori, the decorations are just an outward sign of holiday spirit. They're not as important as how you feel. But they do help get one into that spirit. Spidey has a good suggestion; church groups usually can help. Or call the city or county social services. They might know of a volunteer group.

I do understand not wanting to Christmas, though. (sorry ghost, it's become a verb) For the past few years, I just don't care about putting up a tree or decorating. Since Mom dies and my daughter is grown, it just seems... I dunno.... meh. I still get gifts for everyone -- I have a rep to uphold as the best gift-giver in the family -- and wrap them nicely (also a rep there) but the accouterments just fall flat for me.

My neighbor and her son get high marks for getting me into the house instead of leaving me lying in the snow, picking up what I dropped when I fell, calling the ambulance, driving 30 miles (60 round trip) to attempt to bring me home, and taking me for my home evaluation today. They also moved things they said were for safety, so as long as I'm like this I gotta remember the new system and then figure out some alternate system so we don't have to put the dangerous stuff back. My church group, I am extremely disappointed in. Pastor asked that I share with her what I needed, and I wrote a lengthy email but she never answered as to whether she shared it with anybody. I shared it with everyone in choir I know well enough to presume on--some might have helped but I did not include in the mailing anyone of whom I did not feel pretty sure--and did not get one answer, even to say they received the message! Only one person from church visited, one who I least expected as I felt she rather blew me off last time I had to go to the ER. (Admittedly that was nearly 17 years ago and things have happened since and she does send birthday cards and other nice things.) Only way I know any of the emails even arrived was my best friend answered one. She is not someone I can ask for help directly as she lives too far away, but someone may always know someone. Two people I know saw me in the hall and didn't say hi. I didn't get as detailed on Facebook because it would be putting too much info out there but did list a few things and very few answers. I don't know if I'll attempt to put up decorations. A lot of people leave the tree either until Christmas Eve, or until the first presents arrive to put under it, so maybe we'll see how that goes. Oh, my fall decorations aren't finished either. I put them aside to concentrate on things which should be done for Christmas.
