I am happy because our cat, "Pudz the Might Hunter", proudly brought home a Field Mouse and let it go in the porch. Fortunately I was able to distract her long enough with a cat treat, before blood was spilled, for the Mouse to make it's escape back into the garden unharmed.
So it was a Win/Win situation.;)
But I often wonder why no one markets a "Mouse" flavoured treat or cat food?:umm:
I have a (kind of) similar story concerning my cat Jake 3 days ago. Not quite the same outcome unfortunately... and it was a rat, instead of a mouse. A BIG rat--barely fit on the hearth shovel. :icon_eek:
The disposal part of the story was kinda interesting... it was late at night, raining, cold and I had to... deposit (throw) the rat over the back fence down into the long grass alongside the river. (because I didn't want the cats or dogs eating it in case it had been into poison)
I could have gone through the gate to do this, but there are massive trees overhanging the fence and gate and I could hear possums sitting up there hissing... I don't like the feeling of possums overhead, they have sharp claws.
So... I thought, no worries, I'll just hiff it over the fence and go bury it in the morning. It hit a tree and came bouncing back, to land at my feet. Gar..! I got it over on the second try... RIP, Ratty.

Crap, this is definitely not the right thread for this story... please forgive.

We had a mouse in our basement one time and we put our cat down there. They came face to face, so to speak. And the cat just looked at us
as if saying...And you want me to do...what, with this?? And promptly turned around and went back upstairs.

When my daughter was in HS, a classmate had to go away for a week, leaving his science fair project in her care. It involved white mice. To her dismay, several escaped. Luckily contained within one room. The cats thought those mice were cute furry toys. Not a one was injured. had no idea what to do with them.

A few years forward- Mack, the Akita dog, oh what a mouser. He'd track them down, bring them back- fetch- and gently place at our feet. These were oversized field mice too. Finally got to the point of taking them for a car ride to next wooded area.

Happy today because I have found a lovely man, that I really care about. He's not my boyfriend yet, we just hanging out together. But I
love him already. I hope and wish and pray that I will be us someday. We were an hour ago on coffee. Had a long conversation and talked about
everything. So happy. ;-D

Our last cat was a hunter and a fighter. We had to keep him inside, finally, pretty much. He took on mice just for fun. Birds and rabbits presented bigger challenges, and he was up for them. About the worst time was when I found half a rabbit on the front porch. Grandma would say the worst time was when he came through the pet door, dead adolescent rabbit in his mouth. I assured Grandma that the bunnies weren't an endangered species quite yet, but it was little comfort.

Hi!

I am happy today because I don't have to work tomorrow and a wonderful friend sent me a goodie-roonie new laptop!!!! OMG! It has all the bells and whistles! This thing has a HD screen twice/thrice the size of my head! (I can actually see the pores of the actors. Ha!)

Gotta go and watch some shows and movies!

Peace.

I am happy today because I have a wonderful man that I love so much. My better half was and met my parents today. Everything went well
and my mom especially liked him so much. She told me afterwards that I have to hold tightly onto him now, she meant that don't let
this dream prince run away from you. Oh so happy happy. Sorry that I all the time talk about him and how wonderful he is, I just can't help it.
Please forgive me for that.

I am happy today because I finally got some half-way decent news from the vet (who I am so incredibly grateful for and is an angel to us!). Unfortunately, I am generally treated badly by the vet receptionists and staff...probably because they see me and my precious Sadie more than they see their own family! Anyway-after we left their office this morning and after I got Sadie settled in, I took the entire staff Frosties from Wendy's this afternoon (took one to my mom at work too! :smile-new:). It was 95 degrees today. Just because I was treated poorly, didn't mean I couldn't bless others who were there and helping animals in need. I am grateful I can still look outside of myself once in awhile, no matter how sad I am.

I missed something. What's going on?
