...I will not turn this into a contest of wills Lepp...I am well aware that the Kons are open to all Board members and I have also seen the nominating process fall into a quagmire of opinion...with no forward movement...this is NOT meant to belittle or condemn any of my friends here, I simply am reflecting on what I have observed...you have interjected essentially this same argument before when Kon planning came up...if you wish to lead us to the next event, I will gladly make way for you...but please remember, no one else has come to me with issues on how things have been handled...if they have had problems with how things have been done-they haven't stepped up to the microphone...I have tried my best to make these last two events work, and your help this year was invaluable-but I won't have anyone think I'm trying to ramrod a personal agenda or power trip through...the issue will be discussed at this Kon and I will make the result public when I return...nothing will be official...the Board's will be done...
Dude. I never said you (or anybody else) were ramrodding a personal agenda, and I never said anything about a power trip. Please don't put words in my mouth.
My only concern is that if a select few make all the decisions, the whole board might not feel included, or even welcome. I'm just trying to consider everybody, that's all.
It doesn't have to be a quagmire. Post a list of places - there are spots across the country named in King books from Kansas and Nebraska to Texas, as well as Maine, Ohio and Florida - and give the masses a set time limit to vote on 'em. Whatever spot wins the vote is where the Kon takes place. Same thing with whether it's a summer Kon or a spring break Kon in the south. That way, everybody gets to voice an opinion.
I've said before that I'm cool with it wherever it happens. Doesn't matter to me. And if the rest of the board feels the same way, it's all good. Far be it from me to step on anybody's toes.
