Hi!

I haven't welcomed you to the board yet. Say sorry. WELCOME!!!

I like Con Air very much and it only took me a few years to figure out why it was called CON Air. :a11:
Thank you for the welcome! We actually finished watching it tonight. It's rare that he and I enjoy the same things ;) (oppositional teenagers). Come on kid, it's got Nick Cage, John Malcovich, John Cusac, and Steve Buscemi! I've seen it a million times but I'm one the re-watch.

In the process of watching Jack Nicholson in Five Easy Pieces. I've never seen this one. Watching Jack is mesmerizing, so that's what's keeping this interesting and the fact there are a lot of recognizable faces.

I bought a Criterion collection release called America Lost And Found: The BBS Story which contains 7 blu-rays (all restored and looking great) of BBS movies. BBS was an independent company that Jack was involved with before he got so well known. Five Easy Pieces is a part of the collection and I think it's a great film. If you like Five Easy Pieces, you will probably like the other films in the collection. I especially like the jack and Bruce Dern movie, The King Of Marvin Gardens.

First was Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nicholson. He was really good in this. This was my first viewing ever of this classic.

Second, Wait Until Dark. I remember seeing this one as a kid and being so frightened! Quite terrified. Not so much now. Didn't twist my gut like the first time.

Hey, Dana Jean !

Have you seen Hush ? (Netflix)
A deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.

I think you might like it.

Yes, a few pages back there is a discussion about this. I seem to be alone on liking it.

Spotlight (Netflix)
The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.

Excellent movie, excellent investigative reporting on a very disgusting subject. (Several times during the movie I wanted to slap someone. :disillusionment:)

The Fundamentals of Caring (Netflix)
A man suffering an incredible amount of loss enrolls in a class about care-giving that changes his perspective on life.

I don't watch wrist-cutter movies. (Movies that make you feel like cutting your wrists. ;;D Sofie's Choice, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, etc.) A friend strongly suggested this movie and I was ready to stop at the first indication of wrist slashing... but no. IMO I think it was
A little too optimistic, too saccharine and wayyyy unrealistic but hey, sometimes you need that kind of movie. Not me, I do better with murder and mayhem.
:)

Backtrack (Netflix)
Psychologist Peter Bower's life is thrown into turmoil when he discovers a strange secret about his patients. Risking his own sanity, Peter delves into his past to uncover a terrifying secret which only he can put right.

I questioned the wisdom of me watching this movie late at night, by myself, during a thunderstorm (I lost power once. That was fun.) but I continued. It was pretty good IMO. Could have been better-
The last 5-10 minutes with the girl ghost wreaking havoc? It was okay I guess but I thought it threw the movie off. IDK why.

Have a great Sunday!

I am recording Cape Fear.

The one with Robert Dinero. Not sure if this is the best version or not, but it has a great cast.

It's a good movie and a great cast. The 1962 version with Gregory Peck, Polly Bergen and...(Dahmit. I'm not sure.) Robert Mitchum (?) was also good, IMO.

What I really enjoyed in the Robert Di Niro version was Juliette Lewis as the daughter. No spoilers, promise.
