In your mirror.
I just watched this the other night myself. And yes. Stupid girl didn't see how dangerous this guy was?
Watched Cape Fear (DeNiro version) again last night.
Am I the only one who wanted to smack the crap out of Juliette Lewis' character? Teenage girls are some of the most idiotic un-thinking creatures to walk the Earth (myself included at that age, my daughter too a couple years back).

I did. That smirk.

;;D I tolded you Dana Jean ! Juliette Lewis put this version over the top IMO.

Blue Velvet -- another David Lynch. hmmm, it was okay.

I watched a little 30 minute doc on David Lynch and in it, the people discussing him said that DAvid is big into dream worlds. And I thought, yes, I can see that. But if every damn movie he does is a"dream world," it ceases to be anything special. You can't use something over and over and over again and think it's artistic.

Sure, he throws in some weird stuff that keeps you guessing. But, if he does this in every film, then they are all just the same thing. There's no creativity in that.

I cheated and googled a scene from this movie.
Hopper's character is on the floor breathing ether? Demanding his wife spread her legs and crying MOMMY...MOMMY! and hitting her then saying DON'T LOOK AT ME! What the. . .?

Sometimes a Great Notion

Was Paul Newman ever a bad actor in anything? He may have done some films that weren't so great (none come to mind) but he is such an unbelievable actor. It made me so sad that he is no longer in this world.

I remember seeing this as a kid, and how horrifying the drowning scene was. And how they put Henry Fonda's arm on stick like they were flying a flag, only henry is flipping everyone off.

Great supporting cast too :: Henry Fonda, Lee Remick, Michael Sarrazin, Richard Jaeckel and some good character actor faces people would recognize.

I remember the David Lynch was behind Twin Peaks! . .I did watch Captain America at the AMC tonight and found it worth noting that in Robert Downey Jr's first scene he is wearing a Mister Softee T-shirt. Yes, I laughed and it's a good thing the theatre was empty because I didn't have to censor my reactions at all.

Jonah Hex.

I loves me some Megan Fox.

But it wasn't that good of a movie. i found the DVD for 3 dollars and picked it up because I've been wanting to see it.

The comic had some good stuff in it, but the movie was unlike the comics, and it could have been much better.

Cape Fear (1963?)

One of the very few films where I like the remake better (maybe because I love DeNiro, maybe because Juliette Lewis was so horrifyingly real compared to the cookies-and-cream perfect daughter in the original).
If I had never seen the remake, I'd think this movie was great...

I thought they were both satisfyingly creepy.
More so the '62 one. Had an Ozzie/Harriet gone bad thing.

Juliette Lewis was -shake her out of it - awesome in the remake.
I've loved her since Natural Born Killers.

It's not his wife. It's a woman he's blackmailing and forcing her to do degrading sexual things to him. If you watch it you'll never see Hopper in the same light again.

It also has a very young Laura Dern in it, along with Kyle MacLaughlin.
Yeah, thank you for that. . . okay, Kyle Macglaughlin. . . I'll record it too. I just watched Jurassic World ( I thought it was cool when the book I was reading in the early nineties became a movie) and I don't know, is it me or do they not make them like they used to? I also watched Jaws for the bazillion and onthe time today. No complaints-zero.
