Saw Lenny about Lenny Bruce. Interesting film.I knew very little about him, but had long been curious about the film. Complicated guy. I enjoyed it, but once was enough. One thing I want to say is if it hadn't been for Lenny Bruce there never would have been a George Carlin.

It has been many years since I saw Lenny but from what I remember, Dustin Hoffman was great in it. I think it tells a great story of a guy that gets completely torn down by standing up for what he believes. It's not too hard to take a stand for a couple of weeks but when you have to fight the system for years, it will destroy you. From what I remember, those scenes when Lenny had ceased being funny and was just fighting for freedom of speech rights were painful to watch. Not only did Lenny pave the way for George Carlin but he paved the way for almost everyone involved in the arts after him.

All true. The final scene of him on stage was painful to watch. He fought for so long and so hard it did him in. Fought his wife as well. Tough film and Dustin Hoffman was brilliant.

Rocky Horror Picture Show. New version. Big disappointment. I really liked the first movie, the original, but this..... It is refilmed almost scene for scene without the spark and charm that the original lived on. It does not even try it feels like. 2/5 and then i'm generous. This movie also lack Meatloaf, Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry, Richard O'Brien and Barry Bostwick and it shows. Their absence is very noticeable.

Hacksaw Ridge (mel Gibson)

even although the story was used in forest Gump, and the barracks scene was a poor imitation for full metal jacket, I really enjoyed watching this true story unfold. I was overwhelmed with the heroism of this guy on the battlefield , and his complete selflessness in saving his brothers in arms.

so many men survived the war because of Desmond Doss - I urge you to keep his story alive.

found this on you tube / will watch tonight

Yeah - it was pretty cr*ppy - I started to fast forward it near the end (it was THAT bad)

Watched most of "The Box" with Cameron Diaz - very strange movie and it's hard to listen to her using a Virginia accent (I am assuming that was what she was going for)

I can see why some included this one as a choice in the Halloween Horror Movie thingy

That's one I'm definitely interested in seeing. Soft spot for war movies, too :). Plus, I very much like Andrew Garfield and Gibson (as an actor/director).

Watched first season of Zoo. Based on a Patterson novel where all animals decide that enough is enough and instead of being afraid of man turns against him. All animals, Birds, Lions, Dogs and cats, bats. Interesting premise but they dragged it out too much. Havent read the Patterson novel so dont know how closely they follow it.

Saw Anthropoid. A war drama about the assassination of Reynhard Heydrich by exilczechs supported by the british during the WWII. The only successful assassination of a highplaced nazi. He was number three in rank after Hitler and Himmler. Cillian Murphy plays the lead assassin. A coprudoction between england and czechia. Filmed in Prague. Welldone but not great. But after the meh movies i seen recently it was a nice step up.

The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959). Doyle, Hammerstyle! Wow, great stuff. Oh sure, several changes from the original story, but with Hammer studios, you get used to such things. What rocked my world was freakin Peter Cushing! Once again, blowing me away, with a spot-on portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. Wow, this guy is one of the greatest actors I've ever seen. He's the original class act...I mean, I always dug Basil Rathbone as the super sleuth, and, heck, even Robert Downey, Jr.'s version is fun, but...dang, Cushing takes the cake. And, of course, Sir Christopher Lee as Sir Henry Baskerville was great, but Cushing just knocks it out of the park! I could watch him do anything.

This is a great ensemble piece of work. I remember seeing it as a child, and it was very unsettling to me. I can remember being very anxious after seeing it, thinking about grownups acting so crazy and wild. Hurting someone. Hunting someone down like a dog. It was an awful feeling to think not all adults were normal like my family.

Take a gander at the actors involved.

Marlon Brando
Jane Fonda
Angie Dickinson
E. G. Marshall
Robert Redford
Robert Duvall
