I don't have any worries about Bill Skarsgard, I watched all of Hemlock Grove and he was excellent. I feel like this could be a "Heath Ledger as the Joker" kind of thing where everyone was pissed about the casting but it ends up being way better than expected. As far as the timeline goes, it sucks but don't think it will be as bad as you might think, its still before cell phones lol.

I started watching Hemlock Grove last night. Two episodes in and I'm still not sure about where this show is going, but Bill Skarsgard is pretty good in it. The Skarsgards are a talented family.

GeorgiesArm yes I agree. The show isn't that great and it's laughable that the two leads are playing high-school kids (come on Hollywood, it's 2017; that's just beyond cliché), but Bill is very good in this role. I'm so glad to have been proven wrong (based on my initial post in this thread) and can't wait to see him play Pennywise. I think it will be something special.

Under your bed
actually, moving the 50s to 90s makes sense to me: If the story is being told from the here-and-now 2017 perspective, then early 90s seems reasonable, doesnt it?
Nope. I don't want any 2017 perspective either. I want a fifties/eighties story, like the dang book. But...I suppose filming a double period piece would run into quite a bit of money, so I can see why they ain't doing it like that.
