Session 9 is an independent psychological horror-thriller film I watched today. The movie concerns a group of hazmat cleaners (including David Caruso!) removing asbestos in an abandoned mental hospital. It's a pretty solid flick; what I love about it is its restraint. It utilizes atmosphere and ambiguity over the usual blood and guts, and at times, I was legitimately trembling. Worth checking out.
One of the creepiest movies I've ever seen. Very much a gem that I haven't heard that many people have seen. Excellent movie.

Dahm it. Not available for streaming on Netflix but I'll make a note.

Thanks.

The Minus Man (Hulu+)

A cold-blooded serial killer floats around the country and chooses his victims from people who complain about their lives and indicate a willingness to be killed.

The Minus Man was the third movie in a row I watched that was sorta slow burn, high psych and left me wondering what the heck?! And no, it's not just me. :p Tired of watching weird movies ...

So I watched Wanted for the billionth time.

Wanted

A frustrated office worker learns that he is the son of a professional assassin, and that he shares his father's superhuman killing abilities.

The Minus Man sounds interesting! Sort of a spin on the Saw franchise?
The last movie I started (currently paused) is Breaking Away about four Indiana youths, cyclists.

Why Stop now? (2012) Jesse Eisenberg Tracy Morgan (available on netflix)

Not great but still an enjoyable and amusing comedy-drama. IMDB description:

When a college piano prodigy tries to check his mother into rehab, he is taken hostage by her drug dealer and swept along on a wild adventure.
I remember watching that quite some time ago and not being overly impressed either. But in comparison to some of the other major nonsense I've streamed on Netflix, I should probably give it more credit! ;-D

Finally saw the new Vacation. Thought it was decent. Funny stuff. Christina Applegate gets better looking with age. Saw that dang Birdman, too...err...great performances, sure, but, ultimately, kinda stupid. No Doc Creed, haven't seen Breaking Away, though TCM shows it a lot. Let's see, what else? Gentlemen Broncos...another 'err' flick. Watchable, but too much 'weird for the sake of weird'.

I caught the new Vacation the other day also. The two kids were the funniest characters in the movie I thought, especially the younger son..he cracked me up.

Green Room starring the late Anton Yelchin and Patrick Stewart. One of the weirdest Star Trek crossings with Stewart playing a thoroughly repellent SkinHead leader and Anton as a member of a low level punk rock band. A murder occurs, the band members are a witness, and Stewart tries to cover up the murder and lay the blame on the band. A real gritty violent thriller with several tense sequences which include pit bull attack dogs. Definitely worth a watch.

Bittersweet seeing Yelchin here who died recently and suddenly in a horrific and freak car accident. He has a King connection with his role from Hearts In Atlantis.

I used to think I was an impatient man.

I don't think that anymore.

Not that any of ya'll should care ... but some of you ...

well ...

never mind.

Two things, quickly:

Breaking Away is very much about cycling ...

and the girls have done a fine job with Ghostbusters ... truth to tell, it wasn't really that funny way back when ... we just remember it different.

I'm not sure why I bothered to take the time here ...

but it's the internet, after all ...

So ... perhaps we might all take a moment (or two) to remember how full of shyte we can tend to be.

Or is that just me?
